\u201cROLE\nof ENGINEERING and TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT in TIMES of EXTREME UNCERTAINTY\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 5th INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT SUMMIT,<\/strong> organized jointly by Istanbul Technical University and Bahcesehir University will be held in Istanbul, T\u00fcrkiye during October 19-21, 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme for ETMS\n2023 is \u201cROLE of\nENGINEERING and TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT in TIMES of EXTREME UNCERTAINTY<\/strong>\u201d.\nManaging uncertainty has always been part of Engineering. However, recently\nhumanity has been experiencing an era of extreme uncertainty due to natural causes\nsuch as devastating earthquakes or human-made causes such as the rapid\ndevelopment of AI. It becomes clearer with each day that the future will demand\nvery different competencies compared to those we have today. We are in an era\nwhich we redefine concepts, phenomenon, so called \u201cnormal\u201d, and our roles\nwithin. Hence, the role of engineering and technology management is not immune\nto such developments in these times of extreme uncertainty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the summit,\nthe opportunities and challenges that come with these times of extreme\nuncertainty will be discussed from business, technological, societal, and\nenvironmental perspectives. We would like to emphasize the changing and\ntransforming role of the engineering management field and what might extreme\nuncertainty bring to the profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\ninvite academics, researchers, students, and professionals who are interested\nin presenting research and share experience, knowledge, and ideas in the field\nof Engineering and Technology Management <\/strong>to<\/strong>\nparticipate in ETMS 2023. Virtual participation will also be available via\nZoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
